Enfucell will be showcasing thin and flexible IoT devices for remote care and medical cold chain logistics at Medica and at Printed Electronics USA
04.11.2016 Enfucell Oy, a technology provider of flexible and disposable batteries as well as wireless sensors for IoT, is a member of a consortium for developing a remote home care service concept. The project has been initiated by Kaunialan sairaala Oy, a privately held Finnish hospital specialising in the care of elderly patients. Enfucell is providing a soft sensor patch for monitoring vital signs. The collected information is transmitted wirelessly to a home terminal that is connected to a hospital control center. First prototype is currently being tested in a live environment. The aim is to provide additional safety for elderly people living at home, while reducing health care costs by cutting down the number of visits to health centers. The project is supervised by a Customer Advisory Board. Ambea, the largest healthcare and care services company in the Nordic region, has recently joined the board and new members will be announced shortly.
Enfucell has also been involved in a smart label demo project for creating an end-to-end cold chain management solution for pharmaceutical and medical products. Other consortium members are Identiv, NXP Semiconductors and Syntel. The label is a fully integrated disposable temperature logger that can be read through NFC and is powered by Enfucell SoftBattery®. The system includes cloud services for analysis of the temperature readings. For more information, see smartlabeldemo.com.
Enfucell will be showcasing these and other thin and flexible IoT devices at Medica trade show on 14-17 November 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany (WT | Wearable Technologies Joint Pavilion in hall 15 A23) and at Printed Electronics USA on 16-17 November in Santa Clara, CA (booth #J07).
