Enfucell wins new EU funding as member of FLEXIBILITY consortium

The FLEXIBILITY consortium, consisting of Enfucell, Siemens, VTT, Varta Microbattery and seven other leading European technology companies and universities, has been granted a 4,9 million euro project funding by the EU commission of which Enfucell's share is 258.000 euros. The project is coordinated by the Dresden University of Technology and has a life span of four years.

The Ropas consortium, consisting of 12 European leading companies in the area of printed electronics, has been granted a 3,3 million euro funding for development of a wireless sensor device on a paper surface which can be manufactured using high-end and low-cost printing techniques. The duration of the project is four years.

Due to major changes in Enfucell's shareholders structure the composition of the Board was changed in the annual shareholders meeting on March 3, 2011. The new members are Mr. Juha Kokkila, who was also appointed as the new Chairman, and Mr. Markku Kaloniemi. Mr. Antti Kivimaa remains from the old board.

Enfucell Ltd has been nominated for the first annual Global Cleantech Later Stage Awards, hosted by the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA). The nomination is for the energy efficiency category and it was made by the Finnish Cleantech Cluster, a founding member of the GCCA.

SoftBattery®, a thin, flexible, and eco-friendly power source developed by Enfucell, empowers a personal user interface device controlling KONE's future elevator in the Finnish Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo.
The VisualRFID project consortium, initiated by RFIDLab Finland, and consisting of The Electria unit of Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Enfucell, Hansaprint, KONE, and Sensor Center, has developed an RFID card with a display to control the pavilion's people flow and elevators in a completely new way.
