Board of Directors of Enfucell Oy (Finland)
Antti Kivimaa, Chairman
Mr. Kivimaa is a private investor and a board professional, and has served in the Enfucell board since June 2007, becoming Chairman in 2009. He also serves as Senior Adviser at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in the area of woodworking industry. Until 2009 he served Ruukki Group Plc, an industrial company listed in the Nordic OMX exchange, as CEO and Executive VP since 2004. He has previously worked in senior and executive positions in several Finnish companies, ie. Sanoma Corporation, Janton Plc., E. Ahlström and Sponsor. Mr. Kivimaa has also served as Chairman of the Boards of Esmerk Group and FIM Banking Group Plc.
Dr. Jussi Suomela, Member
Dr. Suomela is one of the founders of Enfucell and has served the company in various capacities from its beginning 2002, including CEO, board member, and chairman until 2009. Jussi is a senior researcher at the Automation Technology Laboratory in The Aalto University School of Science & Technology, formerly known as Helsinki University of Technology.
Harri Ollila, Member
Mr. Ollila serves as Partner at VNT Management since 2007. Earlier Harri worked at Elcoteq Plc, a leading electronics manufacturing services company in the communications technology field, as Senior Vice President, European Operations and Senior VP, Corporate Relations 2002-2007. In 1983-2002 Harri served ABB in various sales, supply chain and business line management positions. Mr. Ollila was elected in the board in June 2008.
Christer Härkönen, Member
Since April 1, 2010 Mr. Härkönen serves as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Management at Sandvik Mining and Construction. From 2005 to 2010 he led the RFID business of UPM Raflatac, a globally leading RFID manufacturer. Earlier Christer has worked in various senior management positions at Elcoteq, ICL Personal Systems and Nokia Data. He joined the Enfucell board in 2009.
Markku Hänninen, Member
Markku Hänninen acts as a business angel investing in and mentoring start-up companies and consolidation cases. He has previously acted as Executive Board member of Andritz AG, an Austrian technology group, and as President of Andritz Oy (Finland) and Andritz Kone Wood Inc. (USA) during 1994 - 2006. Prior to that he was at KONE Corporation in various positions, latest as Division President stationed in Atlanta, GA. Hänninen has served as a board member in various companies in all continents of the world. He was appointed to the board of Enfucell in March, 2010.

The board of Enfucell appointed Mr. Marko Hanhikorpi, M. Sc. (Chem. Eng.), eMBA, as new CEO commencing August 12, 2009. Hanhikorpi arrives at Enfucell from Balancion Ltd, where he worked as director of operations.
Earlier Marko has worked in various managerial positions in R&D and production at UPM Raflatac, and also at Confidex Ltd, whose founding partner and VP R&D he was 2005-2008.
Marko holds a M.Sc. in Engineering from University of Oulu (Finland) and an eMBA from Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia).

Risto joined the Enfucell team in January 2007 as Vice President Sales & Marketing, and he has also been acting CEO of the company before his position as COO on the 1st of December, 2007. As COO Risto is responsible for global sales & customer projects. He is also in charge of corporate communications & PR.
Risto has a 20+ years experience in sales and marketing management. Before Enfucell he worked as a management consultant and trainer, serving also as interim manager. Risto’s leadership experience includes companies like TeliaSonera, Sanoma Corporation and Tamore Group.
Risto is a board member at RFID Lab Finland (www.rfidlab.fi), a leading RFID competence center in Finland, and the American Chamber of Commerce (www.amcham.fi). Earlier he has also served as a board member and chairman of Europartners (The Netherlands and Switzerland) in 1995-2006, and a board member at CBMC International, Inc. (Omaha, NE, USA) 2004-2006.
Risto holds a diploma in marketing management from The Helsinki Institute of Marketing.
Dr. Xiachang Zhang, Chief Technology Officer

Xiachang Zhang is the father of Enfucell’s SoftBattery, and the company’s Chief Technology Officer since its beginning 2002.
In 1990 he left China for Finland to pursue the doctor degree at the Helsinki University of Technology, and he’s been living in Finland ever since. He has vast experiences in bioprocess monitoring and control, biological fuel cell and thin flexible battery technology from the international research work he led in the last two decades. In parallel to his strong technological background, he has been involved in business and financial activities in other small companies. In March 2007 Dr. Zhang was nominated as one of the ten most influential Chinese by a major Chinese media consortium led by Phoenix TV.
Xiachang Zhang is a Doctor of Technology from The Helsinki University of Technology, and also holds a Master’s degree in biotechnology from the East China University of Science and Technology in 1987. In 2007 he was nominated as Honorary Professor of the East China University of Science and Technology.
Timo Kärkkäinen, Vice President of Production

Timo was appointed as Vice President of Production on the 1st of November, 2007. Timo worked earlier for Tervakoski Films Group/Rani Plast Oy in several production development and management positions since 1995.
Timo holds B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Tampere Polytechnic, and recently completed his MBA from University of Wales.
