Enfucell gets new capital and new shareholders, Vera Venture and Varma securing bridging finance

Enfucell, a Finnish company recognized for its achievements in developing its SoftBattery® technology, has received a 600.000 eur capital injection from its existing and new owners, including Vera Venture and Varma, who both have invested in the company earlier. Additionally, the shares were subscribed by all existing private investors and three new business angels.

Christer Härkönen joins Enfucell board, Antti Kivimaa appointed as new chairman

Annual shareholders meeting of Enfucell appointed Mr. Christer Härkönen, M. Sc. (Eng.) as a new member of the board. Since 2005 Mr. Härkönen has been managing the RFID business of UPM Raflatac, a globally leading RFID manufacturer. Earlier he has worked in various senior management positions at Elcoteq, ICL Personal Systems and Nokia Data.

Marko Hanhikorpi appointed as new CEO of Enfucell

The board of Enfucell has appointed Mr. Marko Hanhikorpi, M. Sc. (Chem. Eng.), eMBA, as new CEO commencing August 12, 2009. The former CEO since 2007 Mr. Juha Koskinen returns to his own consulting company.

Hanhikorpi arrives at Enfucell from Balancion Ltd, where he worked as director of operations. Earlier Marko has worked in various managerial positions in R&D and production at UPM Raflatac, and also at Confidex Ltd, whose founding partner and VP R&D he was 2005-2008.

Enfucell moves to new premises in Petikko, City of Vantaa

Enfucell has moved to Vantaa, the 5th largest city of Finland and a home town of Helsinki international airport. Vantaa, together with its neighboring cities Helsinki, Espoo and Kauniainen, form the Helsinki metropolitan area with a population of ca. 1 million inhabitants.

Enfucell among top 20 in Tekes funding list 2008

According to the list published on 27 January, 2009 by Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, Enfucell was among top 20 companies who received funding for its technology projects. In 2008 Tekes invested in Enfucell SoftBattery development 1,4 million euros.
