COMPANY

Enfucell was founded in June 2002 after a decade of research on power sources for low power applications at the Automation Laboratory of The Helsinki University of Technology. The company’s main product is the SoftBattery™, a flexible and thin battery made of low cost industrial environmentally friendly materials that are disposable with other household waste. The main fields of the SoftBattery™ applications are in RFID/logistics, cosmetics, and medical industry.

Enfucell's batteries are manufactured in a roll form for easy adaptation into current production lines. Surface materials are easy-to-convert. The manufacturing process makes a wide range of sizes possible. Due to its flexible size and shape, the SoftBattery™ can be bent with no effect on performance. Batteries have a wide range of operation (-25 to +50°C).

Enfucell Ltd. was selected as one of the Technology Pioneers 2007 by The World Economic Forum. To be selected as a Technology Pioneer, a company must be involved in the development of life-changing technology innovation and have potential for long-term impact on business and society. In addition, it must demonstrate visionary leadership, show the signs of being a long-standing market leader – and its technology must be proven.

Today Enfucell has its office and research facilities in the Innopoli-building, in Otaniemi Science Park, Espoo, the very heart of the Finnish high-tech, next to the Helsinki University of Technology and Nokia Headquarters. As a member of the RFID lab Finland, Enfucell is acting at the forefront of RFID technology.
